Mission Statement
Hank Bamberger is a boundary-defying artist, choreographer, and educator whose work exists at the intersection of movement, identity, and transformation. Driven by a deep commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and interdisciplinary inquiry, Hank’s practice reimagines the body as a powerful vessel for storytelling, activism, and communal healing.
As a choreographer, Hank blends classical techniques with experimental methodologies, crafting performances that challenge conventions and embrace vulnerability. Through his teaching, he fosters dynamic spaces where students are empowered to explore their artistry, interrogate social constructs, and lead with resilience and authenticity.
Rooted in the belief that dance is both an art form and a tool for societal change, Bamberger’s mission is to inspire meaningful connections, amplify underrepresented voices, and cultivate a thriving, critical, and compassionate artistic community.

I am a dancer, choreographer, performance artist, and teacher. I live a colourful and passionate life committed to art, performance, and identity representations. My life has been creating work that questions, heals, misleads, and wanders. More gratifying than following my own artistic needs are the connections I make with others. I relish the fulfilment gained through creative interrelations and interaction. It is my utmost pleasure to share the joy and craft of performance art with others. Choreographic movement arts are the universal languages through which we can identify and begin to improve and perhaps repair humanity.
-
I am a proud teacher of performance art, movement and dance, choreography, and improvisation. I foster safe, exciting, and educational environments ranging from American modern dance lexicons to ballet and contemporary forms. While working rigorously in modern, postmodern, jazz, contemporary, and physical theatre, I aim to strengthen the bodies and minds of aspiring and professional artists. With more than fifteen years of experience, I learn more from my students daily and enjoy the lessons I receive from them.
-
I make dark and fanciful dances to escape the chaos of the world. By constructing surreal realities in my visceral terms, I cultivate and curate a creative ministry of self-reflection and defence. I make dance(s) that follow queer desire lines and yearn to be heard, not necessarily understood. It is my passion to share this affinity with the world.
